Mexican travel vlog/diary part 5 (Bacalar, Mahahual, ect)

Are you ready for the 5th part of the mexican travel diary? Just two more and the journey will be over!
Today I will tell you about the long drive from Palenque to Mahahual and about the emotion of having a dream beach all for ourselves.

Domenica 11 Agosto 2013

Nearly 700 km on the 188. The small villages next to the national route where life runs slowly, the fruit and chicharrones seller waving their bags, the craftmen piling goods on the road sides, the kids playing in the front yards, the dogs resting or strolling in pack and the bumps coming in all heights challenging the car shock absorbers.
Mexico national sport should be the bump jump because you need attention, method and technique in order not to destroy the car!
Screaming "Topeeeeeeeeee" (bump) became my most recurrent activities :)
Then there's the mexican sky, huge and cast with clouds, low and majestic. While the road runs straight between the trees the sky makes you company, it changes every moment, the clouds gather and a storm blows, then everything ends leaving the concrete full of haze.
After 7 hours finding the deep turquoise of the Bacalar lagoon is nearly a mirage, but the travel isn't over, our destination is Mahaual, a few km ahead on the cost.

Even on a cloudy day the carebbean Sea is an unforgettable view. The clear water, the white sand thin as talc, the palm and the breeze. The only thing to do is to dive into it and be cherished by the soft waves, laying on the sand, order a Corona and ennjoy the moment.

Nothing better than a drink on the beach bars to end the day, swinging on the swings which replace the classic footstools and which make us become kids again.

The dirt patch connecting Mahahual to Xcalak is full of amazing empty beaches. Spending a day in front of the turquoise Caribbean Sea, in perfect lonelisness it's a dream coming true.
Everything is just perfect, the breeze coming from the sea, the warm sand, the clear water, the light waves. It's pure happiness what you see in our eyes.

The burst of colours of the sunset on the low vegetation is simply the perfect end to an unforgettable day.

And now, as usual, I leave you with the vlog of these 2 days, I'll wait for you tomorrow with the 6th and second last part of the travel diary, don't miss it!
