Travel diary : Anniversary weekend on the lake - weekend di anniversario sul lago
Ciao a tutti e benritrovati!
Per festeggiare il nostro terzo anniversario di matrimonio io e Daniele ci siamo regalati un weekend nella spettacolare Villa Crespi a Orta San Giulio, il relais gestito dallo chef pluripremiato Antonino Cannavacciuolo.
Da appassionati di cucina eravamo davvero curiosi di poter gustare i piatti dello chef ed allo stesso tempo poterci godere due giorni di relax e vi confesso che è stato un weekend indimenticabile.
Ovviamente abbiamo documentato il nostro viaggetto con un bel vlog ed una tonnellata di fotografie, perciò se siete curiosi di saperne di più guardate il video e subito sotto troverete le immagini ed un piccolo diario di viaggio.

To celebrate our third wedding anniversary Daniele and I treated ourselves with a lovely weekend in the amazing Villa Crespi, the relais in Orta San Giulio run by the award winning chef Antonino Cannavacciuolo.
Being passionate about food we couldn't wait to taste his fabulous recipes and relax in the relais and I have to admitt it has been an unforgettable weekend.
We obviously documented the whole trip through a vlog and a ton of pictures, so if you're curious to know more watch the video and right below yoi'll find some pictures and a short travel diary.

Villa Crespi ha un fascino d'altri tempi, con le sue ricche decorazioni in stile moresco, la torre che svetta in alto e le stanze riccamente decorate.
Passarci una notte è un'esperienza indimenticabile e nessun dettaglio è lasciato al caso, ci si sente davvero coccolati.
Villa Crespi has a quanity charm, with its rich moresque decor, the tower standing out in the sky and the somptous rooms.
Spending a night there is a treat, nothing is left left up to fate and we felt cuddled all the time.
Un breve tragitto in barca e da Orta San Giulio si raggiunge l'isoletta di San Giulio, interamente occupata da un monastero benedettino. Passeggiare fra i suoi vicoli trasmette una grande pace ed è senza dubbio una tappa da nn perdere.
Il percorso è punteggiato da cartelli che invitano alla meditazione e tra un edificio e l'altro siaprono scorci incantevoli sul lago e piccoe spiaggette.
A quick boat trip from Orta San Giulio and we're on the San Giulio Island, with its amazing Benedectine monastery. Waking along its alleys instills a great sense of peace and it's definitely worth a visit.
The itineray around the Island is dotted of signs inviting to meditation and between the buildings you can get breathtaking views of the lake and lovely shores.
E poi arriva il momento della cena, una vera esperienza.
Tradizione e innovazione, nord e sud, sapori e consistenze si mescolando creando un'armonia difficile da descrivere a parole, ogni boccone è una festa per il palato ed ogni piatto è una piccola opera d'arte.
Chef Cannavacciuolo ci conquista, non solo con la sua cucina spettacolare, ma anche con la sua gentilezza e disponibilità.
Poterlo conoscere è stato un favoloso regalo.
Then it's time for our dinner, a true experience.

Chef Cannavacciuolo captivated us not only with its recipes but also for his kindness. Getting to know him has been a true gift.
Una colazione nel parco di Villa Crespi e siamo pronti a ripartire. La nostra prima meta è il Sacro Monte, parte del gruppo dei 9 sacri monti prealpini e considerato patrimonio dell'Umanità dall'Unesco.
Dall'alto del complesso si gode una vista mozzafiato sul lago ed i suoi giardini punteggiati di edifici dedicati a San Francesco trasmettono pace a serenità.
After our breakfast in the Villa Crespi garden we're ready to leave. Our first stop is the Sacro Monte, one of the 9 Sacri Monti included in the Unesco World heritage list.
The view on the lake from the complex is breathtaking and its ancient gardens, dotted with charming buildings dedicated to Saint Francis convey a sense of peace and serenity.
Un pranzo veloce ad Omegna, un'ultima fotografia sul lago ed è tempo di rientrare, ma non dimenticheremo facilmente questo weekend perfetto.
A quick lunch in Omegna, a last picture of the lake and it's time to head back home, but we won't forget this perfect weekend!
Sono stati davvero due giorni indimenticabili e spero che vi siate divertiti a riviverli con noi.

Il Lago d'Orta è stato una piacevole sorpresa, con le sue acque cristalline, il verde degli alberi, la pittoresca Isola di San Giulio ed i vicoli di Orta San Giulio.
