Handmade clear jar shaped card - Biglietto di compleanno fatto a forma di vasetto
Di tanto in tanto mi piace sperimentare nuove idee e la card di questa settimana ne è un esempio.
Jennifer McGuire (una delle cardmakers che più amo) ha di recente pubblicato un video nel quale ha creato un biglietto trasparente a forma di vasetto ed io me ne sono innamorata immediatamente, così ho deciso di provare a realizzare la mia versione.
La sfida è stata quella di ottenere un risultato simile pur non avendo i materiali e gli attrezzi necessari e credo di essere riuscita nell'intento, voi che ne dite, non è carinissima? 😊
From time to time I like to experiment new ideas and this week's card is a clear exmplae of that.
Jennifer McGuire (one of my favorite cardmakers) has recently uploaded a video with a clear jar shaped card and I instantly fell in love with, so I decided to try re-creating it.
The challenge has been to get a similar result without any of the tools she used and I think I, somehow, managed to do that, what do you think? isn't it cute? 😊
Jennifer ha realizzato la sua card usando delle fustelle per Sizzix che ovviamente io non possedevo, per ovviare ho disegnato un cartamodello con tutte le forme necessarie (se volete potete scaricarlo anche voi, trovate il link nela lista dei materiali più in basso), l'ho stampato su cartoncino, ritagliato ed ho usato i dettagli come maschere per ricavare da un foglio di acetato la base a forma di vasetto e da un cartoncino argento il tappo.
Nel mio cartamodello ho inserito anche un riferimento per la parte rettangolare (da inserire sia sul fronte che all'interno e sul retro della card) e l'etichetta centrale con la scritta che ho usato come maschera per ricavare da un cartoncino glitterato azzurro una forma identica, ma leggermente più grande.
Ho assemblato la card sovrapponendo i vari dettagli, proprio come nel video di Jennifer McGuire, ho aggiunto un cordino, un cuoricino in feltro, una linea tratteggiata a penna gel bianca et voilà il gioco è fatto!
Jennifer made her card using a die cut, which I don't own, so I decided to design a template with all the shapes I needed (if you want you can download it for free, you'll find the link in the supplies list below). I printed it, cut it out and used it as a mask to obtain the jar shapes from an acetate sheet and the lid from a silver cardstock.
In my template I also included the rectangular shape (to adhere on the front, back and inside of the card) and the tag with the sentiment, which I used as a mask to cut a bigger one from a light blue glitter paper.
I assembled the card layering the details, just as Jennifer did, some twine, a felt heart sticker, a stitched line in white gel pen and I got my own jar card!
