Itatube 2014 (the italian Youtube convention), Next Vintage and my amazing weekend in Milan

Buon sabato a tutti e ben ritrovati sul mio blog,
lo scorso weekend io e Daniele abbiamo trascorso tre giorni a Milano fra shopping, Youtube convention e la mostra mercato Next Vintage di Belgioioso. Sono stati 3 giorni decisamente interessanti ed ho pensato di condividere la mia esperienza con voi attraverso le immagini e le parole.

last weekend Daniele and I spent 3 days in Milan visiting the italian Youtube convention, the Next Vintage exhibition in Belgioioso and treating ourselves with some shopping.
Three amazing days indeed, that's why I decided to share my experience with you through pictures, a vlog and my words.

VENERDI' 25 APRILE - FRIDAY APRIL 25TH
(MILAN!!)

Camminare per Milano ha sempre un suo perchè, soprattuto se la città è in festa per il 25 Aprile e le strade sono piene di gente. La giornata è splendida, il sole splende e noi percorriamo kilometri per le vie del centro, guardando vetrine, osservando le persone ed ovviamente facendo acquisti (a dire il vero questo vale solo per me, Mrs mano bucata :P ).

Walking around Milan is always fun, especially when the city is full of people celebrating the 25th of April (liberation from the German occupation). The weather is amazing, the sun is shining  and we wonder around for hours, watching the people, looking at the shopwindows and of course indulging in some shopping too (well that is mainly me :P ).

 

E per concludere in gloria la giornata ci concediamo una favolosa cena giapponese.
And to end the day the best way we treat ourselves with a lovely japanese dinner.

SABATO 26 APRILE - SATURDAY APRIL 26TH
(ITATUBE!)

Caffè, cartina di Milano, trucchi, occhiali da sole e vestito per la giornata, sono pronta per Itatube, la convention italiana di Youtube!

Coffee, Milan map, make up, sun glasses and outfit of the day...I'm ready for Itatube the italian Youtube convention!

Itatube è la mia prima Youtube convention ed sono davvero curiosa di scoprire cosa riservi. Nella mia immaginazione mi prefiguro conferenze interessanti dalle quali, perchè no,  carpire idee per far crescere il mio canale; immagino di poter ascoltare le esperienze di chi è già riuscito a conquistare un pubblico e farne tesoro, ma la realtà è tutt'altra.
Lo spazio a disposizione, più adatto ad un concerto che ad una convention, è diviso in modo approssimativo ed i vari interventi finiscono per sovrapporsi; l'organizzazione, per lo meno nella giornata di sabato, lascia molto a desiderare e l'unico panel al quale assisto non è esattamente ciò che mi aspetto. L'età media dei partecipanti si aggira tra i 16 ed i 18 anni, cosa che mi fa sentire Matusalemme, ma superato lo sconforto iniziale comincio ad appassionarmi all'entusiasmo dei ragazzi disposti a passare ore in coda pur di abbracciare i loro Youtuber preferiti, mi lascio coinvolgere dai discorsi carpiti qui e là, dai commenti concitati, dalle urla delle ragazze; in poche parole finisco per viaggiare indietro nel tempo e per qualche ora mi sento un po' teenager anch'io :)

Itatube is my first Youtube convention and I really don't know what to expect. in my mind I picture interesting panels where I can get some usefull tips on how to let my channel grow, or where I can simply get to know the experience of the ones who actually turned it into a job, but unfortunately that isn't the case.
The area, more suitable for a gig that for a convention, isn't very well organized and things end up overlapping a bit, the overall organization (at least on saturday) is quite poor and the only panel I attend isn't really my cup of tea.
Moreover the majority of the people in the audience are 16/18 years old, which makes me feel super old, but once I get over the initial discouragement I start to actually enjoy the people's excitement, the bits of conversation I grab here and there, the girls screams and the true passion these kids convey. For a few hours I feet a bit of a teenager myself and it isn't that bad :)

DOMENICA 27 APRILE - SUNDAY APRIL 27TH
(NEXT VINTAGE!!)

E' domenica mattina, il cielo coperto minaccia pioggia e l'anticipo d'Estate dei giorni precedenti è già un pallido ricordo, ma non basta così poco per intristirci, abbiamo tutta una giornata davanti!
Carichiamo le valigie in macchina e ci dirigiamo verso Belgioioso dove ci aspetta Next Vintage, una favolosa mostra mercato dedicata a capi d'abbigliamento ed accessori vintage dal ‘700 agli anni ’90.

It's sunday morning, the sky is cloudy and it looks like it's going to rain soon, the anticipation of Summer of the previous days it's a pale memory, but we are too excited to be sad as we have a whole day to enjoy ahead of us!
Theload our luggages in the car and we drive straight to Belgioioso where Next Vintage (an amazing exhibition dedicated to clothes and accessories from the 16th century to the Nineties) is waiting for us.

La location è davvero splendida e l'interno riserva sorprese mozzafiato; eventi  di questo tipo sono una grande occasione per  trovare pezzi unici ed io mi innamoro praticamente di ogni capo ed accessorio su cui il mio sguardo si posa. 

The location is amazing and it's full of breathtaking surprises; events like this are perfect to find one of a kind pieces and I fall in love with everything I see.

 

 

 

Vorrei comprare ogni cosa, ma ovviamente non posso, quindi cerco di limitarmi a ciò che davvero mi colpisce. Ho il mio primo colpo di fulmine nello spazio di Balevin dove mi innamoro perdutamente di un frac e capisco al volo che deve essere mio :)

I would like to buy everthing but I can't so I try to focus only on what I really really like. I fall in love instantly with a gorgeus tailcoat in the Balevin booth and I can't help making it mine :)

Nel frattempo si è fatta l'ora di pranzo e mentre la pioggia scende a secchiate, arrivando fin sul tavolo dove mangiamo, noi ci scofaniamo un piatto di gnocchi e poi di nuovo ci immergiamo in questo piccolo mondo vintage incappando nel delizioso spazio di LaTilde, dove ancora una volta mi innamoro perdutamente... 

It's time for lunch and while the rain is pouring outside and it even reaches our table, we eat some gnocchi and we are ready to jumop back into this little old world. We stumble right into the lovely LaTilde booth, where I fall in love again...

 
Alla fine con gli occhi pieni di bellezza e le braccia cariche di acquisti ci rimettiamo in strada, è ora di tornare, il weekend è finito e mentre la pioggia continua a cadere noi sorridiamo pensando che sono stati tre giorni davvero pieni di emozioni e difficili da dimenticare.

At the end with our eyes full of beauty and our hands full of purchases we get back on the road, it's time to travel back home, the weekend is over and while rain keeps falling we smile thinking about how amazing the last 3 days have been.
