Travel diary: #UKRoadtrip2016 Days 3 & 4 : Oxford, Cotswolds and arriving in Bath
Benvenuti ad un nuovo capitolo del mio diario di viaggio dal sud dell'Inghilterra!
Nel post + video di oggi vi porteremo alla scoperta di Oxford e tra i caratteristici villaggi delle Cotswolds! YAY!!
Welcome back to a new chapter of my Uk roadtrip travel diary!
In today's post + vlog we'll bring you along while exploring Oxford and the lovely Cotswolds villages! YAY!!
Come tutti saprete Oxford è famosa per i suoi college perciò la nostra esplorazione non poteva che cominciare con il Christ Church college, il più grande e conosciuto della città.
As you all know Oxford is mainly famous for its colleges and that's why the first stop of our tour had to be the Christ Church college, the most important and the biggest one in town.
Il Christ Church ha sfornato alcune delle più grandi personalità inglesi, da Lewis Carrol (l'autore di Alice nel paese delle meraviglie) a John Locke, passando per ben 13 primi ministri. Niente male no?
In più molte delle sue sale sono state utilizzate come ispirazione per le ambientazioni dei film di Harry Potter ed in effetti l'interno lascia davvero a bocca aperta!
Many imporant personalities studied at the Christ Church college, such as Lewis Carrol (the author of Alice in Wonderland), John Locke and 13 prime ministers. Not bad uh?
Moreover the college itself inspired the sets for Hoghwarth in the Harry Potter movies and I shall say the location is trurly amazing!
La nostra seconda tappa è la Bodleian Library, una delle librerie più grandi del mondo. Purtroppo però a causa della lunga attesa ci dobbiamo accontentare di un'unica sala che però è stata usata come set per ben 2 film della serie di Harry Potter (e per una Potterhead come me è sempre una bella emozione vedere i luoghi in cui i film sono stati girati)
Our second stop is the Bodleian Library, one of the biggest libraries in the world, but unfortunately due to the long wait we had the chance to visit just one room. The good thing is that the room we saw was used as a set on 2 Harry Potter movies and for a Potterhead like me that's simply great :)
Un museo che consiglio a tutti di visitare è quello di Storia Naturale che ho trovato davvero affascinante, con i suoi imponenti scheletri di dinosauro, i frammenti di meteorite e mille altri reperti interessanti.
A museum I definitely recommend you to visit is the Natural History one as I found it really fascinating, with its huge dinosaur skeletons, the meteorite fragments and many other interesting finds.
E' tempo di lasciare Oxford e dirigerci verso la nostra prossima meta: Bath.
Sulla strada però non possiamo non avventurarci fra i magici villaggi delle Cotswolds che conservano un fascino antico.
Iniziamo da lower Slaugther con le sue casette in pietra, i ruscelli che scorrono lenti verso i mulini ad acqua, le pecorelle che brucano ed i percosi fra gli alberi. Un vero sogno!
It's time to leave Oxford for our next destination: Bath.
On the way we have the chance to explore the Cotswolds some more, starting with Lower Slaugther with its stone houses, the little creek, the old mill, the peacefull sheep and the lovely path among the trees. A true paradise!
Una tappa veloce a Stow-on-Wold per il pranzo e poi dritti verso Bath che ci accoglie con un bel cielo azzurro e la sua abazia.
A quick stop in Stow-on-Wold for lunch and we head straight to Bath that welcomes us with a perfect blue sky and its lovely Abbey.
Per sta sera però ci resta tempo solo per due birre ed una cenetta squisita :)
We only have time for a couple of beers and a yummy dinner though :)

Martedì 9 Agosto 2016 - I Cotswolds
Tuesday August 9th - The Cotswolds
E' tempo di lasciare Oxford e dirigerci verso la nostra prossima meta: Bath.
Sulla strada però non possiamo non avventurarci fra i magici villaggi delle Cotswolds che conservano un fascino antico.
Iniziamo da lower Slaugther con le sue casette in pietra, i ruscelli che scorrono lenti verso i mulini ad acqua, le pecorelle che brucano ed i percosi fra gli alberi. Un vero sogno!
