30 days of Christmas cards serie 2012 #14 Be merry

Ciao a tutti!

Ciao!
14th day of the serie, 14th card, we are nearly half way throught the ride :)
Today I'm going to show you a funny, lively, layered card .

#14 BE MERRY

For today's card I chose a kraft cardstock of medium dimensions (9x12.5) that I decorated with a polka dot stamp, Versamark ink and clear embossing powder.

I voluntarily chose to keep most of the card empty and to concentrate the layers and colours in the middle.
I like the contrast between full and empty :)
On a first layer I adhered 2 patterned papers , a clear one and a bright red one, embellished with an upper white scallopped border.
On a second layer I inserted a button with twine and a pearl and a scallopped punched circle.
On a third layer I adhered the trees, cut from a Jillibean Soup "Christmas eve chowder" paper.
Then I created the flag using a toothpick and some patterned paper on which I stamped and embossed the sentiment.
On the top layer I adhered the cute penguin, once more cut from a Jillibean Soup "Christmas eve chowder" paper.
As a final touch I used a gel pen to draw the stich lines on the edges of the card.
